

Ridley is angered to find out about its destruction, and grumbles about Dimentio's role in the disaster. Meanwhile, Ridley, leader of the Space Pirates and fellow member of the Villainoct, contacts Wolf for an update on the Orpheon. Mario is suffering from tinnitus due to the extensive amounts of anesthesia he was injected with. Mario about leaving him behind, where the two discover Dr. Mario after the later found the former's body. When he awakens, he finds himself bandaged by Dr. Toon succumbs to his injuries and passes out. A little while after Wolf jumps off in pursuit, Toon drops onto the planet's surface, leaving the Orpheon to crash into the ground. Toon gets badly hurt, but eventually manages to evade Wolf by hanging onto the underside of the ship, tricking Wolf into thinking he'd jumped off. Wolf finds Toon at the wheel of the Orpheon and attacks him. Red and Purple leave Toon to pilot the ship himself while they wait in the break room. Toon Link momentarily escapes and flees the Orpheon with the help of Red and Purple, who were hiding from the rest of the crew to avoid repercussion for their failure.They quickly return to the Orpheon, however, planning to pilot the burning ship to Tallon IV. Mario can get away, but is then taken into his custody. Toon manages to take down Wolf's ship so Dr. Toon tries to stay calm as he watches the escape pod fly off to Tallon IV, but panics as he sees Villainoct member Wolf O'Donnell shoot at it from his personal ship.

Mario fails to hear Toon leave and jettisons the escape pod, accidentally leaving Toon behind. However, Toon Link steps outside of the pod just before they leave to say goodbye to the ship.

Mario and Toon Link make their way to an escape pod bay in the Orpheon and prepare to escape. In it, Toon Link battles Villainoct member Wolf O'Donnell as the Orpheon collapses. Collision Course is the ninth chapter of Mario Golf, following Gourmet Race and preceding Mario Explains Time Travel.
